EVINCE Project

The EVINCE project was very similar in approach and design to the Value project, but in EVINCE we studied nurses, midwives and health visitors. We examined how the information they had obtained from library services had contributed, or might contribute to their clinical competence.

GIVTS project

One of the findings of the Value project was that there were two groups of doctors who were "underserved" by the NHS library services at the time - Senior House Officers, and GPs. The GIVTS (Getting Information to Vocational Trainees) project examined whether it was possible to improve services to vocational trainees (who are SHOs as well for part of their training).

NeLH communities of practice evaluation

The communities of practice research aimed to assess whether the specialist areas on the National Electronic Library for Health (NeLH) were, and should, operate as 'virtual communities of practice'. The findings showed that communities of practice were a useful framework and that the existing specialist areas could be categorised into various stages of development.
